In Turkey, protests continue in support of Istanbul's mayor, Ekrem Imamoglu, who was arrested six days prior. Despite a ban on demonstrations, tens of thousands have gathered for seven consecutive nights. Over 1,400 people have been arrested, including an AFP photographer, and seven journalists have been jailed. Students are also protesting in Istanbul and Ankara. The leader of the main opposition party has called for a massive rally in Istanbul.
